Animation render issue

Hi guys,

A tricky problem on my side.

I am using deadline to render stills, or image sequences.

The issue I have is, when I want to render an image sequence, the first frame takes ages to start to render. Then it's ok.

But when I want to render a single frame, I don't have this issue...

There is no errors messages in the render log.

Any Idea guys ?

Thx a lot !

You should examine the Deadline logs, which will include the Arnold logs.

Rendering a sequence is not really different than rendering a single frame. For each frame in the sequence, whatever Arnold plugin you use has to translate the scene, and then Arnold renders it.

So the first frame isn't different than any other frame, unless your first frame has totally different geometry and takes longer to for the Arnold plugin to translate.

Hi Stephen,

Of course rendering a frame or a sequence is the same... That's why I really don't get what's happening.

Will try to post some render log later on

deadlinelog.txt

Hey @Stephen Blair

Here is the render log before starting to render

It stays like this for ever, and then, it finally starts rendering with correct render time
Second frame is ok

It's all Deadline stuff, from 15:43:05 until 16:27:12, then the mayabatch render job starts and from there it looks normal. I'm not a Deadline expert, so I think you'll have to ask them what's going on there...

PS I replaced the inline code with an attachment. The code formatting just doesn't work 😞
