OSL partial derivatives

Hi there!

Is there any hope for us to be able to use Dx, Dy, etc with anything other the P (position)?

It would be really awesome!
Thanks!

What would you like to do?

I am doing some NPR shaders. Ive done a realtime shader and was porting it to arnold.
I am, basically, doing a partial derivative of N dot V, modulated from camera distance, to do countors. Ive wanted to do the same with OSL for some reasons, for it to be closer to the viewport shader, to be able to better compose for the rest of the shader, and to get away of the contour filter (its really slow, and I have to cut my cpu threads to half, its even slower if I use all 64 threads).
