Unrecognized node type 'SXSurface'

I am trying to open some rigged, RenderPeople character models in MAYA, but encounter multiple instances of the following warning:

Unrecognized node type 'SXSurface'; preserving node information during this session.

I believe this is preventing the models' shaders from properly loading, such that I am unable to render the models (they appear pink without any textures applied). I have been unable to find any information about "SXSurface" or whether it is available through a plug-in for MAYA.

I am using MAYA 2019.2 with Arnold MtoA 3.2.2. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I tried a free model from their site and it does not look like they have native Arnold shader support. Which file format did you open? Pink means they are missing shaders.

rp_mei_posed_001_30k_native.ma worked fine for me without changing anything.

You can also convert the shaders to Arnold.

SXSurface is not a node provided by MtoA or Arnold.

Check the script history for the requires message that is logged when you open a file.
