I can't get the aiToon Rim Light to show through transparent objects

Nothing I try will allow the aiToon Rim Light attribute to show through transparent objects (i.e. a toon shaded object seen through a window). I've tried the Transmission attribute in both the Standard Shader and the aiToon shader with no luck. In the pic I provided, you can see the Rim Light stops at the border of the transparent object (on the right) and doesn't show through. Also, I can't get the Rim Light to show up in reflections (object on the left), although I'm not entirely sure it would, if the effect is only meant to be seen from the camera.

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong or is this a bug? Thanks.

You are doing things correctly. Rim lighting is currently disabled for mirrors and transparent surfaces. It will only be visible when seen directly through the camera as you mentioned.

Since we allow contour lines in mirrors and through transparent objects it makes sense to enable this too for those cases, we opened an internal ticket to track the issue.

Ok, thanks Ramon. The project I'm currently working on requires the Rim Light to show in both reflective and transparent objects. I can cheat it for now but looking forward to that implementation.
