[HtoA 4.0.0] Standard Surface Shader "Base Weight" - Why is it 0.8 by default?

Hello, I tried looking for a definitive answer but could not find one to the question: Why is the "base weight" 0.8 by default? The arnold documentation does not specify the importance of base weight, is it 0.8 because that is physically accurate or other reason?
