how to assign shadow groups in HtoA???

Hi There,

It's quite essential in my current situation to have an exclusive shadow cast from one light and one object. the object needs to be ignored for shadow for all other lights so i can use it as specific shadow caster.

If I use Light Masks it only affects the objects illumination, Not the shadow.

I think I managed to activate shadow groups on the object using the "User Options"

as the shadows disappear:

use_light_group on use_shadow_group on shadow_group "L1"

But I cannot figure out how to assign a shadow group to the light as it does not seem to react to any of the built in ways. (AOV light goup)

I tried the"set parameter"node in ROP context but no luck:

string shadow_group = 'L1'

would be glad for any info on this.

Thanks

Seb

Shadow groups are a shape property, so you set it on shapes only.

But how would I assign the according light group to the light?

otherwise they would not have any effect.

i basically need to exclude an object from a specific light source including its shadow.
sounds pretty straight forward but doesn't seem to work.

any idea how?

Light groups and shadow groups are different things.

shadow groups are shape properties, and you set them on shapes only.
