Hi everyone,
I have a scene with volumetric light (spot light with atmosphere on) and some VDB volume as clouds. VDB are always acting as if they were on top of my volumetric light even if they are not, it is almost as the vdb was a layer on top of the light's layer on After effect no matter their real 3D world position is. I hope I am clear here is a video to explain it better : here
I don't know if I have done something wrong or if it is a bug but that's a quite strange behaviour I think.
Thank you very much (and thank you for all your previous help : the arnold support is real gold !)
It's a known issue when the two volumetric systems (atmosphere and volume object) are mixed. The atmosphere effect effectively acts like a single layer that gets composed over the background and volume layers.
We're trying to fix this in a future version (no ETA), meanwhile the workaround could be to use a scaled Arnold Volume object in box mode instead of the atmosphere.
Ok I didn't know.
God your workaround is working really great, I even feel like I have more control over the light.
Thank you very much
