We are in the need of sharing arnold shaders mainly between Maya and 3dsMax, and also cinema4D . We have been giving a try to the ass format, exporting only the shaders but is not properly working.
Any ideas?
Anyone in the same situation?
If you're exporting only the shaders, how are you linking those shaders to objects?
The shaders in an ASS file won't be visible inside the host application.
Some users will export shapes in one ASS file, and shaders in another. Then load both with an Arnold Procedural. The shapes use the shaders, so if you switch the shader ass file, you get different shading.
