fbx render time

hey,

I recently animated a charter in daz studio and imported the fbx file to c4d but for some reason it takes forever to render even 5% of it is there any way of speeding the render process

Impossible to say, not without more information. Can you post an Arnold (verbosity level Info) ?

@Lee Griggs I am using a 2k texture that I made from substance painter

I have a MacBook Pro 32gb ram 8core I9 and a radeon pro 560x

its a taking a min of 2hr 45 min to render a single frame which is impossible to work

with since I have about 80 frame to render

What sampling settings are you using? Can you post UI screengrabs, please too to help us identify the issue?

How many light samples? Why 3 transmission samples? There is no glass in the scene? Camera (AA): 5 should be enough as I don't see any textures.

If that doesn't work, can you post the scene/textures somewhere?

As Stephen said, an arnold log would let us see where the time is going. Instructions on how to generate a log file are on the right side of this page.

Upload the scene file and any required textures to a file sharing service, like Dropbox or Google Drive or wetransfer.

Thanks, but the logs are missing the stats part. You need to let the render finish for those to be printed out. How about rendering only a 100x100 pixel region so it goes more quickly and gives us some stats?

Also, you're running a version of Arnold from almost two years ago! I highly suggest upgrading.

I changed the mesh lights to quad lights. They will render more efficiently.

I stripped out all of the textures (why are there so many?). It is a shame that the body has been split up to so many textures for each body part. Can you export just one set of textures for the entire body from Daz? If not, strip out the textures that you don't need and maybe shrink the size of them and convert them to .jpg might speed up the conversion process.

Rendering without textures took 2 seconds.

Scene here. Password: arnold
