There is nomal map problem in 3ds MAX 2018.

First at all, sorry for my bad ENG.

I'm using 3ds MAX 2018.

This is basic setting. They are look like almost same.

But I add normal map, it didn't works well.

[Physical Material + Normal map] => It looks like using bump map.

[Standard Surface + Normal map] => It looks like using AO map. The color is changed dark. And Specular Reflection is not working, I can't control that.

I try change gamma 1, 2.2 but it's not gamma problem.

Also It's not X Y Z direction problem.

Every normal map make same result.

This is same setup but ART render. It looks like right result.

How I fix that normal map problem?

I don't see a normal map node with the Arnold material.

Put your bitmap in the input slot of the normal map node. Then the normal map in the material.

Standard Surface material + Normal map + bitmap(your normal map).

arnoldtest.zipMichiel Van Gasse // You mean "Bump 3D"? There is not normal map in my program. There are just Bump 2D & Bump 3D. But I already tested two case, it's not working. Then I download Arnold render from this site, there is normal map. that's not working also.

I share test scene.

Here are some screenshots to make it clearer.

I also recommend to use Arnold lights, but the used lights also work.
