Transparency in viewport in C4DtoA?

Hello,

I am currently building a character with the new toon rig in R23 and especially the eye controls are amazing, enabling you to scale the pupil, iris and eye spec. Unfortunately I have not been able to make these changes visible in the viewport, because the eye parts are layered on top of each other, so if I connect the texture to the viewport output it blocks the view from the layers below.

Is it possible to have the transparency be respected in the viewport so I can see what's happening? Or any ideas for other workarounds?

Thanks!

You can turn on x-ray in c4d attribute manager for the object that is blocking others, then you'll be able to see through.

Unfortunately the current method to display shaders in the viewport does not support transparency. First the material has to be ported to the new Node Material which has a new viewport model. That's not gonna happen in the next days or weeks.

I don't have any better workaround either then turn on x-ray as suggested.

I understand, it's great to hear that some solution is coming up ahead in the future
