Hi,

Can you post the log when rendering on GPU to help us pinpoint the error ? See https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AFCUG/Log for info on how to get Arnold logs from C4D.

Do you get the crash when rendering a simple scene ?

What Arnold version and driver version are you using ?

I have some kind of same problem, regardless of complexity of the scene; as soon as I switch CPU to GPU on render settings, it freezes C4D, and occasionally crashes it. I tried manually selecting different GPUs and it did not helped either.

What's your C4DtoA / Arnold version? What type of graphics card do you have and what's your driver version?

Could you post a debug log? See https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AFCUG/Log for info on how to get Arnold logs from C4D.

arnold.zipOK, It miraculously started to work, but regardless, I am going to post the debug log since I saw some GPU fatal errors there.

thanks

What card do you have? Sounds like it's not compatible with Arnold GPU:

"Invalid device (Details: Function "_rtContextSetDevices" caught exception: All devices must be RTCore capable.)"

You can find the list of supported GPUs here: https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5ARP/Supported+GPUs

it is so funny! I have 1 RTX 2080 ti and one GTX 1080 ti!
according to the link you posted, they are compatible cards right!?

try to fix this faulty release! if it is good for Redshift and Octane, it should be good for Arnold GPU!

Both cards are supported, but you can't combine GPUs with rtcores with GPUs without rtcores. In c4dtoa there should be an option to let you specify which card(s) to use. Use only one of them (the 2080 is what I'd suggest) and it should work.
