Hey,
I just switch from Houdini 18.0.566 + Htoa 5.4.0 to Houdini 18.5.351 + Htoa 5.5.0.
Htoa 5.4.0 would shut the hydra delegate down when switching to another delegate like Houdini GL.
With the version Htoa 5.5.0 I encountered the issue that even after switching from Arnold to Houdini GL, Arnold keeps rendering in the background and my CPU load to 100%.
Did anyone else encounter the same issue ?
I am having the same issue. Does anyone know if there is a fix coming up for this or if there is a workaround?
Hey!
I was able to reproduce the issue in Houdini 18.5.351. I haven't tracked down the exact cause for this yet, but I assume it's either https://github.com/Autodesk/arnold-usd/issues/226 or https://github.com/Autodesk/arnold-usd/issues/595
Cheers,
Pal.
Hi,
Same issue here. I actually posted about this on sideFX forum thinking it was a missing feature, being able to "pause/stop" the renderer. Only then did I discover that switching to Houdini GL should pause the other render delegate.

This is a much needed fix 🙂
Thanks
Hey,
The guy in this video here have a "Pause Render". I only see "Resume Render" and "Restart Render". Is the "Pause" missing from Arnold?

Hey!
Just to follow up, a fix for this issue was merged in. (https://github.com/Autodesk/arnold-usd/pull/677) This should be included in the next HtoA release.
Cheers,
Pal.
Hi Klaus,
this was fixed about a week ago (https://github.com/Autodesk/arnold-usd/commit/7b14072c797085c29a70c15994ec7be7843a93ad), and the fix will be included in the next HtoA release.
