Ai Curve Implicit UVs attribute?

What is the role of the Ai Curve Implicit UVs in the Ramp node's Extra attributes.

I read the arnold's manual, but i can't understand the role.

By default, the implicitUV coordinates are used along each hair strand (common workflow).

When disabling CurveImplicit UVs the ramp will be applied over the real UV coordinates, as with other texture shaders.

More information here.

From a technical standpoint, the implicit uv's are the curve's barycentric coordinates.

In this fashion, you can pipe in a utility shader into the uv coords of an aiimage and texture along the strand of hair.
