Hello community,
unfortunately I could not find an answer for my problem.
I would like to save a .tif file with alpha so that I can get the Alpha from the Channels layer in Photoshop.
If I use Arnold Lights like Pointlight or Quadlight it works perfectly.
But when using Arnold Sky or Domelight the alpha is completely white. When I activate the Matte box of my object in the Anrold parameters, I get my alpha channel, but the beauty rendering is black.
Is there a way to achieve the same as with Point/Quadlights? My goal here is to have just a .tif with an alpha channel to get the cutout quickly and easily in Photoshop. I don't want to work with Cryptomattes and save multi-layered images, because I only render displaced spheres.
Thanks for your time and help!
You can set the Camera contribution to 0 in the skydome light, but note that it will also remove the background from the beauty (e.g. if you use a texture), so you may need to render twice in this case.
Otherwise I'm not sure you can eliminate the background alpha in one go.
Perfect! That is exactly what I have been looking for. You saved my day! Thank you for your response.
