Rendering poincloud intensity in 3ds Max

I would like to render pointcloud intensity the way it displays in ReCap. The Arnold help says intensity renders "a float array with the color's intensity of each point." But the result I get is a greyscale version of the pointcloud RGB colors, not intensity. I even assigned the User Data Float with attribute set to colors when the Max pointcloud color channel is set to intensity. That makes the Gradient Ramp available, but the result is not the actual intensity data. I thought perhaps the intensity data is not in the pointcloud. That the RCS file only contains RGB data. But in the Max viewport, you see the intensity data just as you would in ReCap (like a 60's hippie poster). When I set the gradient in ReCap to be greyscale, you get a nice display the shows vehicle detail in blown out, pure white areas. Rendering intensity in Max with Arnold is just a greyscale version of the RGB color. Still blown out. No intensity detail. I have a great image showing all this, but I don't see a way to attach it here. Anyway, can I render true scan intensity in Max with Arnold?

Press Control+P and drop the image into that box, if you want to show something.
It might not be enough, we might need to get a sample file.

This image show proper intensity shown are greyscale on the right. This is from ReCap. The view on the left shows what it supposed to be intensity in 3DS Max. It isn't. This is just a greyscale rendering of the RGB (True Color) display. You can see that Max displays the pointcloud's intensity in the viewport just under the image. The colors in that viewport display match exactly the shading seen on the right. Max and Arnold are just failing to render intensity.

Do you have a link to a public point cloud file we can test up against?
It may be that we have to construct an RGB data set based on those float values ourself, it is hard to know, am not working with point cloud files normally, but if you point to 1 online file, I can take a look at it.
