Arnold Atmosphere ignored

Hi, I am trying to render a scene with atmosphere but will be swapping out background images in another program. When I save as a jpg I get beautiful atmosphere. When save as png for the translucency, the atmosphere disappears. I have tried tiff, png, exr, some aovs (I have limited aov experience). Nothing seems to capture the atmosphere with translucency. I feel like I'm missing something small. Anyone have a solution? Thank you!

Add the Emission AOV and you get the volume with matte on everything so you can composit against a diffuse and a specular.
With this set of AOVs you will be able to slide in various backgrounds like you want, calibrate the strength of the atmosphere so it looks like you want.

It is likely that you are unaware that the volume data sits in the Emission AOV pr default.

You can treat those blue and red dots, so they go away without making the render slower.
Decrease the direct/indirect in the firefly flitering section from 10 to ----3, or 2 or as low as 1.

You will see the magic when you rerender,or it happening live if you have ARV open and do this realtime, once you start to decrease these values.

It ultimately means you can render faster, and only sacrifice a bit of dynamic range.

Hi Mads, thank you very much, I was able to use the emissions aov to get the atmosphere I was looking for. Appreciated it!
