3Dsmax won't render arnold motion vector

I am trying to output a basic motion vector with arnold so far no success.

Arnold documentation is useless at best, often mixes maya elements on the max page, the scene file to download is obsolete arnold version so it's less than useful.

I'm really trying to make it work, I am testing on an empty scene with single box animated but so far nothing. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Anyone ???? Surely there are other people who are rendering motion vectors from max....

You won't see in the Arnold Render View inside 3ds Max.

What viewer are you using? I'm testing with Nuke at the moment.

If motionvector is the only AOV in the AOV file, then you get the R and G channels with the motion vector info.

If you have other AOVs in the AOV file, then motionvector is in the X and Y channels, so you'll need to shuffle the channels to see them (eg in Nuke)

The XY idea is a good one, I have a number of passes within the .EXR so let's see if that works. Thanks !

Hi Hyper, thank you for your feedback. Could you provide links to the documentation where this occurs, please?
