What is the issue exactly? Are you using a normal map shader?

Hi, Lee! I'm using bump2d, but it has no effect in beauty, but when I test it connecting directly to beauty port it seems to be ok (screenshot of that comparison attached to my first post. I'm also attaching the screenshot of my shader net just in case.screen-shot-2018-01-24-at-140222.jpg

Oh, it seems that my text disappeared somehow! Ok, I was saying that bump2d has no effect in beaty, so there is no bump on the model at all, but when I connect the bump channel to beauty to test it, it seems to be alright and the bump map is totally fine. It happened after I upgraded to 2.2.1, I didn't have the same issue in previous version.

ok, but the first image looks like a normal map and not a grayscale bump map. Did you try a normal map shader instead?

Whereas your second 'holey' image looks like a regular bump map.

Are you able to share the maps so that we can test it this end?

The first image is just a bump2d shader connected directly to beauty for testing. The holy image is a regular 8 bit rgb, which worked well in previous Arnold5 version. I can upload a whole simplified scene for you to test, is it ok?

Thank you very much for your help, Lee. Here is a file.bump2d-scene.zip

Hi @Denni Mareta! I think that you can do a better conversion of the texture with a ramp_float node to do the bump, with a black little brighter for the base color (not pure black) and do not make texture too small because maybe you can loose it with a lot of high frequency.

I attached the scene file, I hope that it work for you.

Hi, Carlos! Thank you for your help. The thing is that everything was fine in 2.2.0 with exactly the same settings. In 2.2.1 the bump channel seems to output the correct texture, but it's totally different from what it should be in the beauty. Even my scale value looks fine in bump, but not in beauty.

I created a new standard_surface shader and it works fine. I noticed your IOR value was below 1. That may be why it was not visible. Scene file here. Password: bump.

Lee, thank you very much! Seems it was a specular channel issue which was rewritten in a new version and worked differently comparing to the previous version.
