I have the education version of Maya 2020 installed and made the mistake of checking the version of Arnold within Maya. It highlighted that the version installed was not current and so I updated it by downloading the new version. Trouble is, it is now not licenced with the upgrade. I did a Windows uninstall of both Arnold and Maya but neither has helped.
Renders are now a black screen and I can't figure out how to get Arnold re-authorised through the Autodesk Maya education licence. Is there a method of fixing the authorisation issue so that Arnold knows it is running in an educational Maya version?
When I go to the Arnold Licence Manager and select "I already have a Licence", and select to enter a licence number (thinking I could re-input the education Maya licence) it returns a Licence Status [1.1.0] and promptly exits the window(s), leaving me with blackscreen renders.

For a Maya user, the only thing a license does is remove the watermark from batch renders.
A Maya license doesn't include an Arnold license.
But Maya lets you render without a watermark in the Maya user interface.
A black screen? Check the Arnold log? Check your lights? Try a debug render in the Arnold Render View.
No idea what was causing the black render view...
Finally created a new scene and copied the default render settings over the the existing one. Must have been a value in there causing the issue - misleading me as it occurred once I'd done the Arnold update. Just a coincidence.
