Instancing Arnold Procedurals - Works Locally, Fails On Our Farm

I'm Instancing arnold procedurals (.ass files) via the object level instancer.

I'm varying the instances via the 'instance' attribute (not instancefile) on an attribute randomize and pointing directly to the obj path of my procedurals (ex: /obj/ass_tree/ )

This works great locally. This works on our farm if I generate the scene .ass locally. If I try generate the .ass on the farm I run into what seems like deadline related path remapping issues

After the .ass is generated, this is what the rendered frame itself spits out :

2021-01-27 14:45:16: 0: STDOUT: 00:00:02 350MB ERROR | [ass] can't read in C:/Users/chifarmuser/AppData/Local/Thinkbox/Deadline10/slave/CHI-FARM-06/jobsData/6011a161552ab099606dfba1/0_tempIPKhp0/obj/ass_tree/apple_desktop_mountain_tree_v02.ass: No such file or directory

The location it's referring to is not even close to where it should be looking.

Does anyone with deadline experience know what's going on here. Who's at fault - Arnold, Deadline, How i'm constructing my scene?

- Local and farm machines are both windows, btw

Cheers

Unless that is the location you use on your location machine, I'd say that the path mapping is set up incorrectly in Deadline.

My .ass files are on our server which is mapped to another drive letter altogether. Nothing is being read from c:\, that's for sure. I know Arnold has its own flavor of path mapping which i'm not really utilizing. I know it requires that my .ass files be written out with absolute paths unchecked which is not how i've been exporting. As long our workstations and our farm work off of the same server and share the same OS ( windows ), do you see any reason why path mapping of any sort, deadline or otherwise, should have to be utilized?

Thanks..

No.

But if the paths are changing, then I think it's Deadline path mapping that's doing it.

On the farm, doesn't Deadline copy files to that local directory?
Check the task/job reports from that render node.

HtoA seems to be a lot more sensitive on the farm. I often get issues that manifest themselves as "path related" in the logs. (usually arnold gets tripped up by something in the scene )

Are you sticking to relative file paths? like $JOB/caches/rock.ass, in all your filecaches & ROPS

Are you accidentally referencing 1 more (s@instancefile_#).ass than exists?

Are all the farm arnolds the same version?

Good luck
