Troubles with Transmission Dispersion Abbe Diamond Shader Arnold 5 (2.1.0.1) for Maya 2018

Hey there.

I'm having the worst difficulties recreationg a diamond shader like I've seen on the Arnold 5 for Maya guide under the topic Transmission.

As soon as I put a higher value then 0 in Dispersion Abbe, the shader get's a green tint and not the effect of clear transparency with a few wavelength specs inside of it.

Hopefully somebody can help me.

cheers

Have you tried the scene file here? Do you get the same result?

I usually get a greenish tint with low samples. Maybe in combination with a dimly lit scene, the issue is more pronounced. Also, keep in mind scene size... i'm wondering if you diamond is ginormous.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm getting the same thing - the glass material becomes green with every value>0 for dispersion 😞 Why green?
