Camera Mapping with Pin Material

Hi there,

I'm having trouble with camera mapping.

I've done the usual setup projector, mapping it to the mesh all good. But now I want to fix the projection to the mesh using a pin material tag (or any other way for that matter). I'm applying my projection to a fracture object (containing 5 extrude nurbs) that is then animated with plane effectors.

Unfortunately the texture always remains in place (projection) not sticking the mesh.

Any ideas on how to make this work?

I'm on r23 and Arnold 6.1.

Thanks

Joao

Hey
Here's the project file Camera Mapping file . -- https://www.dropbox.com/s/oa99a5uk58qhdmq/cameraMapping_StickyTex.zip?dl=0

The image there is used just as a placeholder.

As you can see once the plane effector affects the fracture object the texture doesn't stick to the extrude nurbs. Even though I have the texture with 'pref'.

Thanks

All the best

Joao

The attachment does not seem to work. Could you please post your scene again?

Here you go. Thank you very much.
It's not exactly this but something along these lines is what I'm trying to achieve.

Thanks. Don't think it's an Arnold specific issue. Reference object (pref) is not a solution here, it's a slightly different thing. What you need is basically baking the UVs at a certain frame, when the fractures are together and then use these baked UVs for the animation. The closest I've found is this: https://vimeo.com/38214597. Note, that it works with camera mapping and polygon objects, you can't generate UVs on Extrude objects, I'm afraid.
