I made another Arnold mistake turned inspiration. Default Noice imager produced hatching pattern
that gave the texture to create this painted look in Photoshop.
Any idea how to create this textured swirl in render?
I'm eagerly awaiting Zeno Pilgrims to compile his brushstroke shader for 6.2 (http://www.zenopelgrims.com/project-arnold-brushstroke-shader-quantize.html) but I think this is a different enough look to pose the question.
