Dynamic objects won't render in C4Dtoa

For some reason C4Dtoa won't render dynamic objects, even when they are baked.

The only solution for now is to bake as alembic. Any ideas why this isn't working?
I'm using Arnold 6.0.4.0 and Cinema 4D R23.008.

Can you show me a simple example where the object is not rendered?

Sure.
This is a baked dynamic object. It only renders the object in its original position, without any dynamics.
Another thing I just discovered is that the vertex shader node don't recognise X-Particles vertex maker.

Thanks, I'll see if I can reproduce it. Regarding the X-Particles vertex maker, I think that's expected if it's a special type of vertex map. I'll check if I can make it work.

Thanks!
X-Particles vertex maker uses the built in vertex map in C4D so that shouldn't really be a problem I guess.

I was not able to reproduce it so far. Could you send me a scene?

What's your C4DtoA version? There were some fixes related to dynamic objects in 3.1.0.2.

Also I was not able to reproduce the issue with the xp vertex maker, the map seems to be read correctly in the Vertex Map shader (used X-Particles build 895). If you can send me a scene for this as well that'd be great.

I'll send it to you. C4Dtoa version is 3.1.1.

Really strange I can't get it to work. Another thing that don't work is, loading an image sequense as a texture, only the first frame is loaded.

Hi!
Did you find any solution?

Message 10 of 15

I think the issue is related to the Subdivision Surface setup, similar to this one: https://answers.arnoldrenderer.com/questions/12626/cinema-4d-arnold-render-looks-different.html

Add an Arnold tag to the Subdivision Surface object and that will export the proper animated geo.

Thanks! It was as easy as to put a parameter tag on it!

Do you also have a scene where the X-Particles vertex maker does not work?

I was checking the image sequence issue as well, and it was working fine for me. Did you use a Bitmap shader or an Arnold image shader?

Message 13 of 15

It was originally the same scene. I rebuilt it with the vertex maker and that also work now when I applied the parameter tag.

Great, thanks!

I have tried the bitmap shader only.
