Are you using OSL nodes? If so you need to set the Gamma manually.

Yes using OSL nodes and that solved it. But just noticed, that my UDIM textures arent converted. How do i fix that?

For now you have to do it manually. Do you know how to do it? I can share here the batch file that will do that for you.

I remember doing it once for testing, but forgot it by now. Could use your guide here.

The batch file https://www.dropbox.com/s/ekdnwqdw09goiky/txConverter.bat?dl=0

(you probably get a warning from your browser that this file is dangerous)

Copy to this location

C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

XXXX being your user name

Select the textures, right clik, send to and select the txConverter

(And some shameless promotion) but if you want a step by step

Alright, finally had the time to change all my textures thanks to your video guide. Much appreciated!

But you stated in the video, that render time, memory usage and so on would be decreased when using .tx. I sadly couldnt see any difference after switching. Especially with displacement maps. I guess it has to do with my GPU, which is a GTX. Will it be more noticable with a RTX card?

It will depend on the scene. There are scenes where without the tx files the render would take 11 hours instead of 2. I think on your case using GPU, try to use the Max resolution option. Also, just double check on the log that tx textures are being loaded and not the normal textures.

On the GPU .tx files are mainly useful for using less gpu memory. I can't over-emphasize that. If you are using non-tiled non-mipmapped textures (like png and jpg) you can very easily run out of gpu memory which will crash your render. On the CPU it won't crash, which is nice, but instead as Ciro said it can become MUCH slower, so it's still worth using .tx files there. .tx files can sometimes also give you faster startup times (time to first pixel being shown)
