C4D / Arnold missing plugins?

Hello!

arnoldc4d.jpg

I am working on a project that someone else created, this person used Arnold as their renderer. When I open the project files I get this error (image)

All the materials start to disappear and turn grey on all materials as the project opens.

And it seems some rigging issues come up too,

You're missing the alShaders, which were used mostly with very old C4DtoA versions.

What version of C4DtoA are you using?

To use the alShaders, you'll need to be using an older C4DtoA (2.6.x or older).
Then you could use the transition version of alShaders:

ARNOLD 5 HANDOVER

Arnold 5's new standard library replaces most of the functionality of alShaders. As such alShaders (at least in its current form) will not be updated for Arnold 5. However, in order to make upgrading existing networks to the new standard easier, there is a "transition" version available. The pattern and utility nodes should function the same as in Arnold 4, but the surface shaders (alSurface and alHair) are empty parameter shells and will render flat red. You can download the shaders from bitbucket at the links below:

hmmmm thank you! I would imagine you're correct! I am using the latest version of C4DtoA. silly question.,. how do I install this? just drag it into the bin folder in C4D?

Copy files (.dll / .dylib) to the plugins/C4DtoA/shaders folder.

Note, that latest C4DtoA is built with Arnold 6, don't know if the plugin will work.

I think you will have to go back to Arnold 5 (C4DtoA 2.6.x)
