Problem with Auto-Converting to TX

Hi guys,

I've run into some weird problems regarding the Auto-Conversion to TX and materials. It seems like textures that go into color slots are converted just fine, but every texture that feeds something that expects linear inputs like roughness, opacity etc. can't be converted with Auto-Conversion and causes to prompt error-messages.

C4DtoA | 00:00:31 1917MB WARNING| [AiMakeTx] maketx ERROR writing "XYZ Filepath" : Failed OpenEXR write: Failed to write pixel data to image file "XYZ Filepath". Data compression (zlib) failed.

It also seems to be independent from the texture file format.

The weird thing is - converting with TX-Manager works just fine, it just seems to be the Auto-Conversion.

Can anyone with C4DtoA confirm a similar behaviour?

Thanks!

It's a recently discovered issue with 8-bit single-channel images. We're applying dwaa compression and maketx errors out. For now, you'll have to use the Tx Manager.

Ah ok, sorry if this is a known bug 🙂

Although the same thing happens for me with EXRs for displacement, 16bit TIFFs etc.
