single sided geometry in USD procedural

Hey,

im rendering a crowd of butterflies with the wings beeing single sided. The USD procedural seems to be rendering them one sided (only the side where the normals are pointing visible).

Is there an override where i could force it to be double sided or is that a limitation of the USD procedural? Would love to keep the geomety as light as possible since there are thousands of them.

thanks,

Andres

An illustration with a bent grid rendered with the default shader USD procedural vs regular sop geometry node.

You need to set the Normals parameters for double-sided

i should clarify that it does work in solaris as expected and the normals are set double sided by default i assume. So adding the render geo settings and removing the checkbox from double sided makes it single sided as expected. But writing the usd out with the defaults and rendering it through the procedural seems to ignore the double sided normals.

needed to set the gprim's doubleSided attrbute to True before exporting it to USD. That fixed it. Thanks.

Ok. I think you could of used an operator (if re-exporting was not an option).
