Its great arnold support Cryptomatte now ,but seems it is not support volume shader now?
Quoting Jonah Friedman from the mailing list:
"We can't support volumes yet, Arnold doesn't support writing custom AOVs or AOV shaders on volumes yet."
Is there at least a way to ignore the volume in cryptomatte? Right now it acts as background so I cannot mask background without the volume in it.
typical, you want ot render volumes as separate pass and comp (with deep or holdout)—this way you much faster volumes renderings.
How would you setup the two renders? One just the volume and other just the environment. So that environment has the volume shadows and the volume is ocludded with environment assets ? I am thinking shadow catcher material but not sure if that is right approach?
