Displacement variation with aiSwitch index on a packed alembic

I'm trying to find a workaround for applying a random texture to the displacement of a packed alembic duplicated through a copy/transform as the operator fix (LINK 1) doesn't work for me.

I'm currently trying a user_data_int (from a wrangle i@idWin = @ptnum) as the index of a switch node (LINK 2) which gives me the 'polymesh:disp_map' attribute in the ass file and displaces the geo but without the variation (image below shows identical input for both colour and displacement but with a different result). All the instances have a unique 'idWin' which is also being passed to the ass file.

Even without the random id number plugged into the index, it still doesn't seem to obey the index number of the switch node even if it's set manually.

How would I get the displacement variation working please?
