Someone from the developers can test one problem. S24. Create several cameras in an empty scene. Then Windows - Customization - Save as Default Scene. Then create a new scene. Create a new camera (RenderCam as an example name). Move this camera to another position from the position of the default cameras. Turn on the IPR, change the Active Camera to the RenderCam. For me, it stays on default camera and does not switch to the RenderCam. When I switched back and forth between cameras, Arnold gave me a fatal error:
[c4dtoa] 00:00:26 1692MB ERROR | [gpu] an error occurred during rendering. OptiX error is: Unknown error (Details: Function "_rtContextLaunch2D" caught exception: Encountered a CUDA error: cudaDriver().CuEventSynchronize( m_event ) returned (700): Illegal address, file: <internal>, line: 0)
GPU 0 had 4450MB free before rendering started and 4324MB free when crash occurred
Initially, I just wanted to configure C4D as Maya. To be able to switch between cameras that would save the position. I don't like Four View, I wanted six cameras (Perspective, Front, Top, Right, Left, Back).
I didn't get any crashes, but I did see the the Arnold IPR window rendering the wrong camera, or showing the wrong camera name in the Camera list.
Just like Stephen, I can not reproduce the crash either. But indeed, the IPR does not show the right camera after switching. I'm going to fix this in the next release.
