Hello,
I'm using a triplaner to texture a load of clones and I have the coordinate space set to world mode. Is there a way to stick the texture so they don't swim in animation? I've tried using Pref and an object reference but it applies the texture per clone and I need the texture to spread over all of them. I've also changed the fix texture mode in the cloner to straight but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Andy

I'm afraid it's not possible at the moment, because only the object space reference points are stored in Pref. Please contact support@arnoldrenderer.com and I can send you a custom build with an additional option to export in world space.
I recently wondered how to do that, too. My solution: use Object in Coord Space. Create a Color Jitter. In the Object tab, I lower the Gain Min. Usually to -1. Then I plug the CJ into Triplanar, into the Offset input. You can also use the Range node to control the values more accurately. For example in the Range node I set Output min = 0, Output max = 90. And then I connect CJ->Range->Triplanar (Rotation).
You can also use this trick in Cell Noise or similar node.
I used this method to randomize a texture in a looped animation.
HI Peter, thanks for the offer. But I need it to work on a 3rd party render farm. Do you think this will be added as a feature in the near future?
Well, few weeks maybe, but of course I can not guarantee when the render farm will update.
Peter, that sounds great re the future update! Thanks so much for your help.
Peter that's amazing news! Thankyou so much for the crazy turnaround time on this. It's a great feature addition!!!
