ambient occlusion with image maps

Hi,I was wondering if someone can show me a couple of setups, if possible, how to incorporate AO with a texture map?-this question was addressed by someone else, but my mix shader could not connect to the color port of the standard shader-I have tried using a layer color node, but I don't think that the look is pronounced enough, thank you , as help would be most appreciated

Have you tried using the composite node set to multiply?
