Hi there,
I want to create a frost growing animation on a surface with x-particles using xpTrails. But after a few frames the IPR stops showing the simulation. The render in the picture viewer shows the same problem. The console shows:
[c4dtoa] 00:44:35 24439MB WARNING | [curves] /xpTrail|xpTrail_42: missing points parameter
[c4dtoa] 00:45:00 24440MB WARNING | resetting parameter points on /xpTrail|xpTrail_42 (found: nans or infs)
My Rig is:
C4D S22.123 latest
C4DtoA 3.3.2.1 latest
Mac OS 10.15.7 Catalina
The x-particles system is almost set up with default settings.
Caching the simulation doesn't help. Is there something I'm doing wrong or could this be a bug?
I can send the scene file if needed.
I would really appreciate your help since I'm in the middle of a project.
Many thanks in advance.
First few frames render fine
Not rendering
Could be a bug. I'll take a look if you send us the scene. You can send it to support@arnoldrenderer.com.
Seems like there are invalid values in the spline generated by xpTrail, which make the render fail. Don't know if you can change somthing in the simulation to prevent that.
If not, I can filter the invalid values out in the plugin in a custom build.
Hi Peter, thanks so much for looking into that. I reset the xpTrail parameter to the default settings with no luck. I don't know where I could control or change the "missing point parameter" that draws the error. Like I said, the settings in the simulation are all very basic. Perhaps the handling of the trail branches is somehow leading to problems in the Arnold tag?
I have to finish a project until next week. A custom version would save my life.
Thanks so much.
Cheers
Thanks again Peter for your great help with a custom built, that prevent the bug in x-particle to stop Arnold render. I will report the bug in xpTrails to Insydium.
Invalid values coming from xp are now filtered out in C4DtoA 3.3.6, thus the render won't fail.
