Hi
I currently use 8bit .tif files would I be better with a different format?
I use 32bit (float) tif for a height map and would that also be correct?
thank you

I would suggest using 8bit only for diffuse maps. Where possible use half float exrs for color data.
For displacement maps use 32bit exrs or tifs. Normal or bump maps will behave better with more data as well.
thank you. I am unsure what a half float is. From Substance Painter to Maya I get 32F for exr so will go with that.

thank you again
32 is float, 16 is half float
