Arnold RenderView renders locking up Maya viewport

Hi,

We're finding that Renderview renders are causing the Maya viewport to lock up. What can I check in our setup?

Maya Version 2020.3

MtoA Version 4.2.3

Thanks
Siobhan

Try leaving more threads free eg put -8 as the number of threads in the Render Settings.

Hi Stephen,

That worked to free up the viewport, thanks for the tip.

We notice that the problem only occurs when the Arnold Renderview is closed and re-opened. Seems spooky.

Is it worth raising a ticket for further investigation do you think?

@ The problem is that these things are (usually) not reproducible.

But if you send a detailed Arnold log to support, we can take a look (especially if we have similar hardware).

Does this happen with any scene, or just certain production scenes?
