I have a simple bifrost simulation that has a liquid and some foam. The liquid renders fine after exporting the mesh to alembic... the foam however doesn't render as points... or spheres... or volumes. The error I get seems to indicate that mtoa is the culprit rather than some settings problem. Here is the error I get...
// Error: line 1: [mtoa.translator] bifrostFoam1MeshShape | Mesh not exported, it has 0 shading groups. //
Anyone have an issue like this?
MAYA 2018.2/MtoA 2.0.1
Have you assigned a shader to the Foam mesh shape?
Please see the guide here: https://support.solidangle.com/display/A5AFMUG/Bifrost#Bifrost-Foam
Note : The BifrostFoamMaterial and BifrostAeroMaterial are no longer supported in MtoA for Maya 2018+ (they no longer translate to Arnold shader nodes).
So you will need to apply the aiStandardVolume or aiStandardSurface shader to the foam in order to render.
That error indicates something like this:
Thanks Ashley,Stephen!
Does this match with recognition?
What is displayed does not look like foam.
Numerical adjustment??
