C4DtoA constantly crashes when rendering

I'm experiencing render crashes every 10 to 15 frames.

I'm not sure if this is a texture issue or possibly a scatter object issue. My scene does contain a large amount of scattered instances. I have tried dialling back the numbers but still crashes unfortunately.

Not sure if you can help but I have attached the bug report

Thanks

If you render 5 frames (or less) at a time, do you crash?

It's not always the same frames that crash, right?

Is there any weight painting in the scene (just a guess based on the bugreport.txt) ?

In general, we can't tell much from the bugreport.txt files.

Hi Stephen, I can render 5 frames without a crash.

In fact I managed to render the whole sequence last night but it took about 5 crashes to push through..

Also I noticed that scatter objects tend to disappear every now and then throughout the render? It may be because I am rendering at very low res..

Thanks

Paul

It could be memory then. Or it could be something else...hard to say without seeing some Arnold logs.

Could you try with the latest C4DtoA? Or do you not have R21 or later?

The bugreport suggests that it's something related to the auto tx generation. It could be a false trace though, but worth a shot. Does it help if you set Tx generation to manual in Render Settings > Textures and generate the Tx files via the Tx Manager?

As Stephen said you can also try a newer c4dtoa version if you can, and please check the debug log if there's any clue in there (intructions). Also if you could send me the scene and I'd take a look whether I can reproduce it.
