Rendering Marbles with caustics

wanted to know the tips and tricks to render marbles with caustics in Arnold 2.1.0.1 and Maya

There is a caustics tutorial here.

Those examples use a Mix shader, which is really useful for this type of shading effect.

If u try the physical way, then better to model the marbles layer by layer (kinda make random designs and then put them all together inside a sphere). Now textures those design first, then the outer sphere mesh.

The procedure way, take two spheres(outer and inner), apply procedures shader process to both.

You gonna cry a lot if you rendering a bunch of marbles, coz render time wont bargain.

Here you go Buddy. 15min maya workout. This is just the basic level set up, can be much better.
