Stumbled across a scenario where I'm not getting the results I expected from creating a shadow matte pass in arnold using houdini. Attached are 2 images showing the problem in a simpler example. One is the scene setup and the other is the result of the alpha from the render. These 2 grids are the same object and the shadow is being cast through the top surface down to the bottom one? Has anyone experienced this before/knows a solution?
