Do you have any imagers in the scene? We have a know memory leak using imagers, we are working on, reported here: https://answers.arnoldrenderer.com/questions/36548/memoty-leak-c4dtoa-oidn.html

Okay thanks

wow I have done more tests and I even remove any imagers than rendered animation sadly the problem remains, I have been using Arnold for a couple of years and I did not have this issue before

Do you have a scene you can share with us that reproduces this? Ideally the one without the imager. Is it a GPU or CPU render that's doing this?

I always render with GPU, Definitely, it's GPU

scene --> not at the moment

@Peter Horvath is the "known memory leak using imagers" for ALL imagers or just the new OIDN denoiser? I'm using the Arnold noice denoiser now and my scene keeps crashing on render unless it's super low resolution.

That's the thing with or without imager I keep crashing, especially with higher resolutions that happen so fast, more resolution faster crash

I'm having the same issue Hossein. I just talked to an engineer at Fox Renderfarm where I've been trying to render the same image for the last 4 days and it's been a nightmare, he doesn't know what's happening either. Everything renders fine at lower resolution. I'm even tiling the image to make it more manageable on the render side.

We got a scene that reproduces this problem on our end. The preliminary investigation looks like this might be a memory leak in the GPU when using textures, so every frame rendered consumes more and more memory.

When I disable textures and shaders in diagnostics, my scene renders fine.

Now I'm getting a WARNING: Invalid shader cache item 0x000001EBEE78DD80[dpdx_shader_cache.cpp(452)]

Hi guy with the new version release, is there any news of this issue?

Message 14 of 20

This is not fixed yet, sorry. Hopefully in the next one.

The bug we've found is more specifically with when a skydome_light has an attached texture. That will leak after every frame. It looks like we might have a fix and hopefully an upcoming release will contain it.

If your memory leak doesn't have a skydome_light with a texture, please let us know as that's a different leak we are likely not aware of.

hi

hundred percent sure my sky object use native Arnold physical sky

maybe the texture generated by that will the leake, just saying

I haven't tested it, but yes I suspect you're right and that physical_sky plugged into the skydome_light triggers the same memory leak. If removing the skydome_light still causes a leak then it's a different leak we still need to fix.

Okey, i remove all the physical sky and create directional light and the leak still happens

OK, so it might be different. Until we get a scene that reproduces this, I'm afraid there's not much we can do on our end.
