Perspective projection textures with Maya texture reference still swims (doesn't stick)

Maya 2022.3 & mtoa 5.0.0.1

[I posted this on the Autodesk Maya forum and didn't get a solution there.]

I have perspective projected (camera mapped) textures on objects and created a texture reference for them.

The hardware renderer correctly shows the texture sticking when the objects are moved or deformed (as did Mental Ray back in the day).

Arnold doesn't seem to be able to do this - the texture swims.

I've seen suggestions online about deleting object history and applying the texture reference before animating the objects, but these don't work. I thought maybe it was a GPU limitation, but it happens with CPU as well.

I also tried it using the Arnold Camera Projection shader; that doesn't work either.

You will want to make sure you aren't using Viewport 2.0 in your camera, it isn't supported via viewport 2.0.

Sorry, this may not be relevant to your issue, I was quick on the submit.

It doesn't seem to work. Created a ticket. Thanks for the feedback.

Maybe Convert to File Texture would work as a workaround.
