Hi everyone,
I have to make a 3D scene for a school project. I wan't to create a jungle, so there's a lot of detail like rocks, foliage, trees, grass, moss, etc. Knowing that the amount of polygons would be a problem, I decided to use StandIns.
My problem is that I used terrain pieces as StandIns to make the terrain on wich I want to place the rest (rocks, trees, foliage...) with MASH using the mesh distribution system : asks for a mesh so the system can place the other meshes on it. Though, StandIns are not meshes, so I can't use the terrain I created so MASH can place the foliage, trees and rocks on it. So, my question is :
Is there a way to convert StandIns into a mesh ?
OR
Is there a way to be able to easily place my props on a terrain I made with StandIns ?
Thanks.
Cant help you on that, but usually i prefer instancing of poly-meshes first and then convert the whole scene to ass workflow. Here is the script for ass pipeline i have written.
MASH replies on polymesh data to do the placement, so you need to either make an approximate mesh to be used for the layout.
