Hi
From the Milestone 5.1:
Flake Shader: the newly added flakes
shader can be used to simulate multiple layers of reflective flakes
embedded below the surface of a refractive material. (#6061)
But I'm not seeing any new when I kick -info flakes or in Maya hypershade

Thanks , but that is for the old one
kick -nodes t
show the flakes shader
kick -info flakes
show the parameters of that shader
but I'm not seeing any NEW parameter like reported in the Milestone 5.1
I don't see that in the release notes for MTOA 5.1. There is a #6061 flakes in the Houdini release notes.
I don't see anything in the Arnold 5.1 release notes about a new flakes shader, because that was shader was added in a previous release.
here is the Milestone 5.0.2
Improved flakes shader: The size parameter is replaced by the density parameter, which makes it easy to control the size and number of flakes. Alpha channel can be used as a mask. The new flakes shader supports non-disc shapes and 3D flakes, which are useful to render gemstone inclusions like goldstone, for example. (#6061)
and here is the Milestone 5.1
Flake Shader: the newly added flakes shader can be used to simulate multiple layers of reflective flakes embedded below the surface of a refractive material. (#6061)
so..
Show me where you see that here: https://support.solidangle.com/display/A5ARP/5.1.0.0
Ok, you mean "in the Changes.html file that is distributed with the Arnold 5.1 download"
That text should have been removed, as it was from the release notes we published on the web.
