HtoA Rounded edges

Are there any ways to have rounded edges in Houdini? Putting curvature into bump2d doesn't help.

Back when you asked, no. But for those who later come across this question, we do, as of Arnold 5.2.1 have support for rounded edges. From the 5.2.1 release notes:

Round corners shader: This shader modifies the shading normals near edges to give the appearance of a round corner. The simpler way to use this shader is to connect its output normal to standard_surface.normal or standard_surface.coat_normal.
