I have this annoying problem.
I am using plants (trees) exported with Plant Factory. The textures are PNG files.
When I want to render by using "image sequence" render the textures are flickering.
Can someone explain to me this Arnold phenomenon?
Things I have tried:
1. I thought it is because of the Dome Light, so I hid it and light the whole scene using Area lights. Still Flickering
2. I thought it's because of the TX conversion. So I have unchecked "Auto-Convert Textures to TX" and left "Use existing TX". Still flickering
Here is a video: https://youtu.be/CYfamR7R_Fs
The trees on the right are aiStandins and the one on the left are Mesh with Geometry cache.
I am using Maya 2018 with Arnold 5.0.2.1
Please help me!
Are these frame raw RGBA frames, or are we seing OptiX denoised RGBA passes, because, if it's the last one, this could very much indicate you rendered too few passes.
Which passes are you referring to? I am not sure what would raw RGBA frames would mean?!
This is the final render, the file extension is EXR.
Alright, I was just guessing you were using OptiX denoiser, low passes can result in those kind of flickering when using the denoiser. But since you haven't mentioned you use denoiser, I basicly don't know what it could be.
Interesting enough when rendered with Vray it doesn’t flicker. Extrelemly annoying bug exactly when I have deadline. I have tried all, converted the PNG to 16bit because I thought it might. be from this.
Do you think it’s because of the file extension of the texture ?
It doesn’t make sense...
Arnold gods joint this convo let’s get this sorted 🙂
