how can I make a back lit panel with bump map, using thin wall or transparency?

Hello,

I'm trying to make a wall panel that has embedded pattern using a bump map ().

I want the panel to glow like this image() from this link: https://support.solidangle.com/display/A5AFMUG/Geometry

I checked thin wall under geometry but there was no effect when I rendered with a light behind the panel. I may be having issues with Arnold lights as well? The model is very large so I don't think the

light is going all the way through.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you.

Is there a reason that you don't want to use Emission?

Hello, Thanks for the response, I want more of a paper lantern type effect and I feel like using emission gives more of a light box effect.

I've turned on Thin wall and changed subsurface to .5 to get this effect which is close to what I want.

If anyone has a better solution, please let me know!

thanks
