The current shadow matte implementation does not work with indirect lighting (like the skydome).

hey it worked for me once i plugged a texture to the skydome.. hdri or a ramp

Thank you so much for posting your solution, @Saul Freed. Even if I want an all-white sky dome, this at least means you can make a white-to-white ramp and work around this issue. This is the sort of issue that cost me hours trying to figure it out until I found this thread - I hope Solid Angle can put in a fix soon for other users' sakes.
