aiSkyDomeLight and light groups

Hi,

mtoa 3.0.1, core 5.1.1.0

Something weird is going on when doing a batch rendering of a scene which has aiSkyDomeLight assigned to a light group. If for an AOV "All Light Groups" is checked, said light group does not come out. It is there in RenderView, but not in a output file. Heres example:

aiSkyDomeLightShape:

1777-skydomebug1.png

aiAOV_RGBA:

1778-skydomebug2.png

Arnold RenderView:

1779-skydomebug3.png

Output EXR layers:

1780-skydomebug4.png

On the last image, you can see EXR file opened in RV and clearly "RGBA_sky" light AOV is missing even though light group was specified and All Light Groups for RGBA AOV was checked. Other light AOVs get exported properly.

Any ideas why?

It should be noted that "RGBA_default" light AOV seen in last image is not, in fact, the missing "RGBA_sky". This is just a layer that gets contributions from the lights that dont have group assigned.

Interestingly enough, specifying groups explicitly, outputs everything properly:

Actually, no. SkyDome light contribution goes into default light AOV no matter what you do.

Hey @Alexander Lee,

Uncheck the "AOV Indirect" on your Skydome light:

And that will now fix the Problem you have and allow your dome light to go into the custom AOV.
